WHO IS CARA

Cara is an intelligent woman with a warm heart. She is caring, curious and likes making connections, all cornerstone qualities of brilliant and insightful coaching.

Following a straight ‘A’s education, Cara went to Cambridge University and then to London where she qualified and worked as a Chartered Surveyor (FRICS) for international property companies like CBRE. After an epiphany moment as a frustrated and unfulfilled working mum, Cara realised that developing people not property was her passion and where her natural strengths lie. In 2010, she retrained as a Coach, found her mojo and since then has been helping her clients to find new solutions to their problems and live the life they want to lead (just as Cara has herself).

Her own best case study

Cara has been through her own career change, long term illness, early parental bereavement and divorce after a long marriage – proving that you can always change your stars and successfully deal with life’s curve balls.

Cara is always willing to share her life stories, because it is our “bumps and bruises” (Michelle Obama) that make us who we are. Her latest life adventures include finding Love during Lockdown (and then moving on), breeding Puppies and Sea swimming.

Beaches, Musicals & Springer Spaniels

Cara has 3 grown up sons and a gorgeous Springer Spaniel called Google. She lives in the beautiful South Downs near Chichester where she loves walking along the vast and breathtaking Wittering Beach (her Happy Place).

Cara also loves musicals (although she cannot sing a note herself), doing Sudoku (to quieten her busy brain), playing tennis, drinking wine, and is a mindfulness convert (you will need to stop her evangelising about the benefits!).

ProNappers.co.uk

Cara’s super power is her daily nap. She is so passionate about this energy hack hiding in plain sight (but sadly smothered in stigma), that she founded the Rest Consultancy ProNappers. Please do drop by www.ProNappers.co.uk and take a look.

Cara is on the External Panel of Coaches at Accenture. She also works as an Associate Coach for Epiphany Coaches, Emerging Women and PropertyCEO.

Cara’s INSPIRATION

When I was growing up, a framed picture of Desiderata hung in our hall way. I passed by it many times a day, but as a child I didn’t pause to read it nor did I fully understood it’s profound message. I must have taken on it’s meaning by osmosis though, because seemingly unconsciously, it encapsulates how I live my life now – with equality, respect, authentically and knowing that each of us is perfect just as we are. My mantra is “do what you say you are going to do and be kind to others”. Be kind to yourself too, keep learning, smile and be happy.

The opening words have always stayed with me, ‘Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence’ – not only do I cherish my daily mindfulness, practice but anyone who has experienced my coaching will know the value I attribute to listening to my clients, with palpable attention, silently and without interruption, and how profound that experience is for unlocking clarity, creativity and comprehension.
